First, a quick background on me..
When I started my newsletter & twitter in June 2021, I was working at a tiny PE firm. We focused solely on investing in emerging franchises. This gave me unique exposure to:
Franchisors, who we were helping grow
Franchisees, who we tried to onboard to any of our brands
After years in the trenches, I noticed 3 things that inspired me to start The Wolf of Franchises:
First
There's franchise owners who earn 7-8 figures annually & only work ~20 hours a week. It's a path to wealth that doesn't require you to found a tech startup or compete against FAANG. Given all the entrepreneur talk on twitter, I wanted to be a voice for this alternate path.
Secondly
There is minimal transparency around the financial performance of franchises. Prospective buyers have to jump through hoops to obtain basic performance info on franchises. It shouldn't be this way, which is why I share the info directly either on twitter/the newsletter.
Third
The franchise industry is ripe for innovation. Franchise companies haven't updated their websites in 20 years, and have zero social media presence. To me this signaled an opportunity, and this is where Workweek comes in..
Enter, Workweek
Co-founders Adam Ryan and Becca Sherman have incredible experience in media, most recently being key team members of The Hustle, which was acquired by Hubspot for a reported $27 million.
With their expertise in media, and my knowledge of the franchise world, we’re a powerhouse team that is going to change the way franchise research and buying is done. Today in the US alone there are:

But it's REALLY hard to find the info you need to break in. Most Google searches get you franchising websites that are full of BS (and look like they were built in 1995).
Together with Workweek, we are on a mission to empower a new wave of entrepreneurs through franchises. And this newsletter is just the beginning.
We have big plans in the works that are going to make this information accessible for the everyday person, including building a modern way to buy & sell franchises. We'll provide FAR more support for potential buyers than is currently offered.
